October 2, 2010 Wausau	Wausau Money Conference The Conference is a nonprofit event; there is no pressure to buy anything or to open any financial accounts, just an opportunity to learn about personal finance. We are offering over 30 one-hour classroom sessions throughout the day from retirement planning to frugal menu planning, with age-appropriate sessions for children between the ages of 6 and 18, and free childcare for children between 2 and 5 (advance registration for childcare essential). Three classroom sessions will be conducted in Spanish and three in Hmong. Every participant may receive a free copy of his or her credit report, complete with three-digit credit score. There is a $3.00 early-bird admission charge (free for kids), which also includes continental breakfast and lunch, and door prizes throughout the day. October 5, 2010 Wausau	How To Buy Healthy Food Without Spending A Lot of Money Join us for a guided tour of Trig's grocery store to learn how to eat healthy without spending a lot of money. Guiding this free tour will be a health professional from Aspirus Hospital. The tour will cover reading and understanding food labels, picking healthy food items, cooking tasty and nutritious meals at home, discover the variety of healthy foods available, learning the facts about fat, sugar, sodium, calories and fiber and how to do this and stay within your food budget. This tour is for anyone who would like to learn more about healthy eating. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a pen and paper.
October 5, 2010 Wausau	Budgeting Without a Fight Take advantage of this unique opportunity to create your living budget while being coached on healthy communication skills. Informative and hands on.
October 6, 2010 Wausau	Wausau Area Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl Tournament The FICB is a study program for high school students, teaching topics such as economics, college preparation and financing options, credit, insurance, current events, and investing. Participants form teams of four students and visit www.ficbonline.org and www.mygreatlakes.org to study and take practice quizzes. The program culminates in a live, college-bowl-format tournament, complete with a buzzer system, celebrity moderator, and panel of judges. We reward all students who participate with US Savings Bonds, book store gift certificates, stored-value cards, or the like. Students on the first- and second-place teams receive prizes of greater value as an incentive to excel and are invited to join the statewide final round that will be held in May 2011, to compete against the winners of other regional tournaments. The 2011 Wausau Regional tournament will be held at Northcentral Technical College (Wausau Campus).

While new laws are being passed in an effort to stem the tide of ID theft, consumers need to take steps to protect themselves. You also need to know what to do if identify theft happens to you. Also, learn how to spot potential investment fraud and check out the individuals and companies that are selling investments.
October 7, 2010 Wausau	Final Affairs: Necessary Conversations This will be a program with speakers addressing topics such as funeral planning, options for veteran, hospice and palliative care, legal matters, financial issues, and many other factors to consider in advance care planning. will receive a Final Affairs Guide (for arranging your persona/legal affairs) and complimentary refreshments. This no-cost seminar will be open to any adults in Central Wisconsin.
